Abstract : The research aims at identifing the aspects that led to the emergence of African masks, knowing their technical features, their distinctive plastic elements and their symbolic meanings as well as making use of them to design a women's "vest". The research also aims at getting to know the opinions of the "specialists and producers" about the proposed designs and the extent to which the consumers accept those designs. The value of the research lies in the light it sheds on the new sources of artistic visions in the field of women's fashion design. The research follows the descriptive approach to survey the opinions of "specialists, producers and consumers" about the proposed designs with the application through implementing selections of those designs. The research resulted in: • The design of a collection of the proposed designs which bear the stamp of originality and modernity and depend, in their designing lines, on the technical features and plastic elements of the African masks. • The Positivness of the opinions of "specialists, producers, and consumers" about the proposed designs which shows thier distinctiveness. • The implementation of selections of the proposed designs that received the highest average scores by the categories of "specialists, producers and consumers".
