Abstract : This Study aimed at investigating the form and content of narrative and cartoon stories presented in television child Programs to decide whether they are convenient to pre- schools. the study also sought to survey the opinions of communication personals in television child Programs in regard to the techniques of presenting the story One other aim of the study was to examine children's preferences concerning the types of narrative and cartoon stories presented in to them in television Programs The researcher used different tools to get the desired data these are a checklist for analyzing the content of narrative and cartoon stories , a survey to know about the opinions of communication people in regard to television child Programs an narrative checklist to know about children's preferences concerning the stories presented in to them in television Programs. And an observation checklist to observe children's behavior while watching the stories. Applying the tools, which were validated by pilotting, the researcher reached many findings. The study proved among others that the stories employing colloquial language and social topics are the best preferred by children. Most communication people believe that the best technique for children's participation in the presentation of stories in for children to tell the story with dolls and illustrative pictures .they study also proved that children prefer and cartoon stories to narrative stories and that they prefer watching the cartoon story.
