Abstract : This Study is aiming at defining the historical origins of fur, shedding light on their most important advantages and kinds. Additionally defining the scientific bases, which must be adopted upon handling fur during cutting, sewing, the used sewing machines, the methods of caring of and storing. The study revealed that natural and artificial fur need special treating methods during cutting and sewing. Additionally there are some differences between natural and artificial fur in relation to finishing, preparation, cutting and ironing.
