This study aimed to determine the proficiency level students Third Division, Department of Geography, Faculty of Education for girls in Jeddah skills to understand the map. To achieve this, the researcher examined many previous research studies, books, special skills to use the map to identify the particular skills to understand the map. Been reached, including a list of skills to understand the map was President of the 4 skills (reading, analysis, interpretation, conclusion), and falls below 14 sub-skill. Has formulated these skills in terms of procedure has been in light of the drafting of the paragraphs of the test to determine the level of performance of students in the skills of understanding the map, and after confirmation of the validity and reliability of the test, applied to the sample consisting of students in the Third Division, Department of Geography in 1424's numbers 304 students. The study concluded the following: 1. And a general decline in the level of mastery of the skills of the respondents understand the map in general. 2.
