Abstract
:
Introduction: Due to the technological advances of today's world , it has been a must has the educational system to cope with such developments using recent technologies such as electronic learning resources help solve lots of problems in the teaching / learning process . Reading and writing is no more an obstacle in front of today's child. Technology becomes the challenge and the target that should be achieved. it is noteworthy that kindergarten stage is very suitable to start teaching such concepts and skills, as electronic learning resources are very attractive and interesting . the problem is how can we incorporate such technology (computers) at that early stage, and is it possible for children to have the chance to play and learn through it . Many experts believe that using these technologies at an early stage will help produce a better generation who can cope with fast challenges of today's world . it will help develop positive attitudes , concepts and skills related to electronic learning resources . Research Problem: The existing kindergarten programmes do not cater for the technological needs of this stage. Computer learning is as much important as learning how to read and write in this age . it is also very important to start teaching children about computers at this early stage . The researcher of the present study has felt the need for providing integrated programmes that are based on using different teaching aids to equip children at the kindergarten stage to deal with electronic learning resources which will be used extensively in the near future. Research Questions: The present study attempts to provide an answer for following main question: "What is the effectiveness of designing an integrated instructional programme to prepare kindergarten children to deal with electronic learning resources?" It also attempts to find answers for the following sub-questions: 1. What is the framework of the suggested instructional programme ? 2. What are the aims and objectives of the suggested programme ? 3. What are the components of the warm-up stage? 4. What is the effectiveness of the suggested programme an preparing kindergarten child to deal with electronic learning resources? Research Aims: The present study aims at: 1. Designing an integrated instructional programme to prepare kindergarten child to deal with electronic learning resources. 2. Assessing the effectiveness of the suggested programme an developing kindergarten child cognitive and psychomotor skills to deal with electronic learning resources. Research Important: the present study might contribute in: 1. Attracting the attention towards the importance of preparing kindergarten child deal with electronic learning resources. 2. Identifying the most important concepts and skills required for this kind of preparation. 3. Supporting the role of electronic learning resources as a main part in the kindergarten programme. 4. Stressing the role and relationship between the child and the computer? Research Hypotheses: 1. there is significant statistical differences between pre and post mean scores of kindergarten children's acquiring of concepts related to electronic learning resources in favor of post application. 2. there is significant statistical differences between the pre and post application of the observation sheet in favor of post application. Research Method: The present study follows the experimented method as the most important one for achieving the research aims and verifying its hypotheses. Research Instruments: 1. A visual objective tests to assess how for kindergarten children have acquired primary concepts about electronic learning resources. (after answering its validity and reliability). 2. Child performance observation sheet : to assess the required skills needed to deal with electronic learning resources. (after checking its validity and reliability). Research Procedures : 1. Review of related literature related to the present study . 2. Designing experimented material . 3. Designing the suggested programme and submitting it to committee of jury members to judge its validity. 4. Piloting the suggested programme on a sample similar to the research sample . 5. Design research instruments (visual achievement test and observation sheet). 6. Submitting research instruments to a committee of jury members to judge its validity and reliability. 7. Piloting research instruments and make the required modifications . 8. Pre administration of the research instruments . 9. Teaching the suggested programme to the research sample . 10. Post administration of the research instruments . 11. Statistical analysis . 12. Discussion of results . 13. Recommendations and suggestions for further research . Research results : The present study revealed the following results: 1. The programme was successful in prepare preschool child to deal with electronic learning resources 2. There is significant statistical differences (at 0.01 level) between pre and post mean scores of the experimental group in the achievement test in favor of post test mean score. 3. There is significant statistical differences (at 0.01 level) between pre and post mean scores of the experimented group in the observation sheet in favor of post administration.
