Overview of the Vice Deanship of Development :

The Vice deanship of Development at the Faculty of Home Economics was founded in order to compete up the ambitions of the Top Management at the KAU, to develop a set of performance standards, and to maximize the academic and professional levels of the students. This vice deanship includes six units :
-Academic Accreditation Unit.
-Quality Management System Unit.
-Technical Support Unit :
1.Division of educational facilities and laboratories.
2.Division of information & Publishing.
3.Division of Information technology.
-Academic and Educational Systems Development Unit.
-Practical and Collaborative Training Unit.
-Alumni Unit.

Date of Establishment :

Established in 11/05/1435 AH.

Mission :

To have a hand of contribution at the development of both the educational, administrative, and technical processes at the Faculty of Home Economics through collaboration, teamwork and leadership. The vice deanship follows models of best practice and quality management set up by leading international institutions in order to upscale the performance of the Faculty.

Vision :

-To elevate the performance of the Faculty throughout both effective training and professional development to fulfill the goal of providing quality as per well-structured strategic plans.
-To upscale the performance of academics, technicians, and administrators.
-To utilize technology in all utilities of the Faculty.

General Objective :

The general objective of the Vice Deanship for Development at the Faculty of Home Economics is to provide advice to various academic departments and administrative units to develop the Faculty of Home Economics continuously. Through teamwork, the Vice Dean for development will work cooperatively encouraging and suggesting various tracks and mechanisms for work development, and providing effective implementation requirements for faculty activities, in compliance with the quality standards applied in international and local exceptional universities.
Detailed objectives :
1.Working on improving internal competency levels of the Faculty depending on various resources to create appropriate atmosphere for continuous development and overcoming obstacles and drawbacks.
2.Instilling the academic and educational practices of the Faculty in compliance with NCAAA and those applied in several international universities. The objective is to achieve academic assessment accreditation according to the endorsed professional standards.
3.Working on improving the Faculty of Home Economics’ image and reputation in the occupational market through ensuring the effectiveness of field training for its students.
4.Working on developing collaboration and partnership relations with distinguished universities on the international level through having collaboration agreement and consultations to benefit from their experiences and practices.
5.Human resources development of the faculty including academics, administrative and technical staff since they are the main foundation and most important asset a long with encouraging creativity through positive thinking and generating ideas and innovation.
6.Instilling principles and modern scientific techniques such as administration and strategic planning, Total Quality Management, and committees aiming at upgrading all faculty services; especially, ICT utilization in academic and administrative activities.
7.Strengthen and sustaining communication between the Faculty and the community institutions.
