Vice Dean's Message : Dr.Amal Basaffar

Praise to be for Allah, the Almighty, and both peace and blessing to be upon the most venerable Prophet Muhammad Ibn Abdullah.

The Faculty of Home Economics is one of the oldest colleges at King Abdulaziz University comprising six departments offering both undergraduate and graduate programs; serving more than two thousand students of the college.

During the last five years the Faculty of Home Economics had taken confident steps towards development and upgrading all undergraduates program to keep up with modern scientific achievement. These steps will improve the educational outcome in terms of students’ knowledge and experience required to compete in the labor market that will enable them to serve society effectively; the outstanding improvement enabled the faculty to achieve the academic accreditation for its seven academic programsand to continue hard work to get the academic accreditation from the National Commission of Academic Accreditation and Assessment (NCAAA). Furthermore, the faculty’s strategic plan is directed toward meeting the lines of the university strategic plan.

The faculty of Home Economics is committed to work continuously providing an adequate academic environment, conductive to our faculty achieving highest level of academic and research performance. The graduate studies is no doubt has an effective role in advancing scientific research and publication; Thus the attention directed towards improving graduate programs to meet the requirements of academic accreditation and to attract talented local and overseas students. To complete the aspect of development administrative needs attention to activate the automation of administrative transaction and improve the efficiency of administrative staff by encouraging them to enroll in appropriate training courses.

The Vice-deanship of Development at the Faculty of Home economics is looking forward to having a pioneer role in field of quality and accreditation. This role actually requires us all, teaching staff, administrators, technicians and postgraduate and undergraduate students, to work collaboratively as one team in order to fly up well into the horizons of quality academic education.
